PERFORMANCE WALKING TREES

SINOPSE: Entre o corpo vivo e móvel do ser humano e o corpo morto e estático da pedra, a cidade comporta um outro. As árvores nascem, vivem e morrem, mas não saem do local onde suas raízes as fixam. Seu movimento é singelo, com ajuda do vento, balança seus galhos e espalham suas sementes. No contexto urbano, onde a velocidade e a mobilidade parecem ser imprescindíveis para a prosperidade e manutenção do mundo capitalista, a performance ‘Walking Trees’ aborda o contraste existente entre esse espaço e o corpo das árvores, ao mesmo tempo móvel e fixo, que tem como única preocupação crescer e viver.

“Há muito tempo atrás, não existiam bosques porque todo lugar era um bosque, sem estradas para bifurcar e sem pessoas para erigir pedras e cercas e pontes. (…) Tudo era muito calmo o tempo todo, porque as árvores precisavam se concentrar em suas próprias vidas. Não é fácil crescer tanto, por tanto tempo. (…) Crescer é para sempre, elas sussurraram.(…)”. SYNOPSIS : Between the living and mobile body of human beings and the dead and static body of the stone, the city holds another kind of body. The trees are born, live and die, but they do not leave the place where their roots take hold. Their movement is simple, with wind balancing their branches and spreading their seeds. In the urban context, where speed and mobility seem to be indispensable for prosperity and maintenance of the capitalist world, the performance ‘Walking Trees’ addresses the contrast between this space and the body of trees, at the same time mobile and fixed, whose only concern is to grow and live.

“A very long time ago, there were no groves because everywhere was a grove with no roads to bisect and no people to erect stones and fences and bridges.(…)It was very quiet all the time because the trees needed to focus on their lives.
